Our friends at the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) are conducting a worldwide survey on antimicrobial stewardship.  If you work in a hospital setting, please consider filling it out and forwarding it to colleagues.  The closing date is this Sunday 19 March 2011.  Here is the blurb from ESCMID:

The 1st Global Forum on Bacterial Infections concluded last week on 5 October 2011.  The forum outlined the state of the current challenge of increasing antibiotic access to the developing world while limiting an increase in drug resistance.  Immediate and multi-sectoral approaches at the global and domestic level were determined to be the course of action for combatting bacterial infections caused by antibiotic resistance. The New Delhi Call to Action on Preserving the Power of Antibiotics was signed by Hon.

Dr Anita Kotwani is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the V. P. Chest Institute, University of Delhi.  At the Global Forum, she will be speaking during the session, Antibiotic Use and Resistance within the Community, on 4 October, 9:45 - 11:00.
